Claire A. (Pilles) Moroney

Claire Angela Moroney (née Pilles), 61, of Mt. Greenwood, Chicago, IL, passed away on March 19, 2024 from lung cancer. Claire was born in Chicago, IL on March 11, 1963. Claire grew up playing outside with neighborhood friends and making summer visits to her grandma in Bohner’s Lake, WI. After graduating from Alan B. Shepherd High School, she met Michael (Mike) Moroney and they were married in 1990.

Claire was very proud of her children, Cara and Michael, and encouraged them to follow their dreams. She enjoyed their company and they made her laugh. She was enamored with grandson Asher and spent as much time with him as possible, delighting in watching him grow and learn. Claire was a hard and diligent worker, and held jobs in and around Alsip and Mt. Greenwood, most notably at Animal Krackers for 12 years.  Claire was extremely generous with her time and energy, never hesitating to help out family and friends. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and will be remembered for her fun-loving nature, generous spirit, and tireless love. 

Claire was the wife of Mike; mother to Cara and Michael; grandmother to Asher Ryan; mother-in-law of Matt and Shannon; sister to Mary, Bob, Jeanette, Christine, Tom, Barbara and John; and loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents John and Audrey Pilles.
