At times like this,  death can seem so powerful and overwhelming. God, who gave us life knows how we feel during times like this.

Because of His enduring love, He also gave us His Word so that we could find words of comfort. He shows us that love is stronger

    than death is:

"Place me as a seal upon your heart,

As a seal upon your arm,

For love is as strong as death is,

And exclusive devotion is a unyielding as the grave.

Its flames (love) are a blazing fire, the flame of Jah. (1 John 4:8)

     Surging waters cannot extinguish love,

Nor can rivers wash  it away."

    Song of Solomon 8:6,7

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Hickey for your loss. What has helped me to deal with losing those close to me is what God has promised for the future. Revelation 21:4 says God will SOON eliminate death and suffering. Also He has promised  to resurrect ALL who have died! (John 5:28,29)  These are not mere words, but promises from Our Heavenly Father. They are sure to come true. I hope these thoughts can bring you some comfort during this difficult time
