Roger J. Guthrie, Veteran US Army, WWII and Korean War. Beloved husband of Adele, nee Nowacki. Dear father of Paul and Kathleen Guthrie and Jackie (Keith) Sorensen. Loving grandfather of Brendon, Jake, Hailee, Dylan, Nora and Ian. Dear brother of the late Dan, Veronica, Rita and Colette. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Retired Operating Engineer, City of Chicago Local 399 with over 30 years of service. Funeral Saturday 9:15 a.m. from Beverly Ridge Funeral Home; 10415 S. Kedzie Ave. to St. Catherine of Alexandria Church Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to Mt. Greenwood Park Special Recreation Assn. 3721 W. 111th St. Chicago, Il 60655 or Save a Life and donate blood appreciated. Visitation Friday 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. 773-779-4411.

     He fought many battles, for our country and for others. Roger was very strong and determined man and father.  He was my father-in-law  for only a few years, but most importantly he was a terrific and loving father and devoted husband. My condolences to dear Paul, Kathy and Jackie and the Guthrie and Nowacki families.  Rest in peace Roger.
