If you knew Joan, you knew her FAMILY - ( whether children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, or even the little ones who lived upstairs!) - Joan opened her arms and her heart to them - over and their want and in their need and they opened their hearts to her.  As a FRIEND, Joan SHARED her heart - which enabled those who called her friend to KNOW her and to be able to SHARE  their hearts with her.  As an avid LEARNER  and seeker of knowledge, Joan, I am certain, earned enough "Savvy Senior" hours at St. Xavier to be granted an Eclectic Degree!  In deep FAITH, Joan SHARED her God and the depth of her FAITH through the words that she spoke, the kindness of her actions, and the deep love and compassion in her heart.  Joan if we KNOW you, we also "KNOW" that St. Christina is the YOUR Parish!  - and,  tomorrow, our hearts will gather there and pray for you - and ask that you pray for us...Barb McSweeney and a "hug"from Joe!

    Dear McGarry Family,

I saw Joan for many years at my podiatry office. She was a busy woman who did not sit still. I enjoyed many conversations with her and followed the weddings and births in your large family. How proud she was of everyone. Knowing Joan I'm sure she has gone to a good place. My condolences on the loss of her.

The loss of a cherished loved one is the most devastating experiences a family can face. At times, the loss may seem unbearable. Please know that there are family and friends who care and more importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. He is the God of all comfort. God will comfort you during this difficult time of grief. Our prayers are also with you and your family.
